It Just Wouldn't be Fall Without Poe & Pints

Poe & Pints returns from its shallow grave. The theatrical event of gothic stories and curated beer selections has been resurrected by the Silver Stage Players after a brief hiatus to entertain and scare another year of attendees at the Duncan Little Creek Gallery. Winner of the 2017 and 2018 Elko Daily Free Press Readers’ Choice Bronze Award for “Best Annual Event” Poe & Pints is an evening of theater that should not be missed!

Show dates are October 1st ,2nd ,8th , and 9th, 7:00 pm at the Duncan LittleCreek Gallery. Tickets are $35, and can be first purchased at the Elko Mural Festival’s artist village September 11th-12th.

Inspired by the macabre and chilling stories of Edgar Allan Poe and similar writers, this unique event offers a rare opportunity to see performance art reflect the darker aspects of the human imagination. Poe, H.P. Lovecraft, Oscar Wilde, and creative collaborators Josh Webster and Doc Paul all join this year’s lineup of authors. Exploring themes of twisted love, revenge, and horrid hunger from both sides of the grave, these tales are sure to unnerve and frighten.

Nick Heguy also returns as the cicerone. He has carefully chosen four beer selections, with the help of our event patrons, to give audience members a break from the horror and lift their spirits. Heguy will lead each flight of tasting, giving expert information on each beer as they are enjoyed.

The project was first conceived in 2014 by Frank Sawyer and further developed with the help of Jennifer Anderson, John Wright, Erika Patrick, and Derek Burwell. Continuing Frank’s work, Derek Burwell will be making his directorial debut with this year’s event after performing in it since its inception.
